Simply Forms now gives merchants more control over validation for the Checkboxes element by letting them specify the minimum number of options a customer must select.
Previously, marking a Checkboxes element as required meant that customers had to select at least one option. With this update, merchants can require two, three, or more selections when a form needs stricter validation.
When Is a Minimum Selection Requirement Useful?
Some forms need customers to select more than one checkbox.
Multiple Acknowledgements
Legal, compliance, consent, or application forms may require customers to acknowledge multiple statements.
For example, if a form contains three required acknowledgements, you can set the minimum selection to 3 so customers must select all three before submitting the form.
Surveys and Preferences
Surveys and preference forms may ask customers to select multiple options.
For example: Which product product features are most important to you?
You can set the minimum selection to 2 to make sure customers choose at least two options before submitting the form.

When you mark a Checkboxes element as required, you can now configure the minimum number of options a customer must select.
- Set the minimum selection based on your form requirements.
- Keep the default value of 1 when customers only need to select one option.
- Simply Forms validates the selection before accepting the form submission.
Existing forms continue to work as before because the default minimum remains 1.

The Minimum Checkbox Selection Requirement is available for forms using the Checkboxes element in Simply Forms.
