We’ve enhanced the Checkboxes element in Simply Forms Form Builder to give merchants more control over minimum checkbox selection requirement.
Previously, marking a Checkboxes element as required meant customers had to select at least one option. This worked for simple cases, but it didn’t cover more advanced real-world scenarios.
Common problems merchants face:
- Multiple acknowledgements required
In legal, compliance, or consent forms, customers must explicitly agree to every statement, not just one. See the example below.

- Meaningful feedback needed
Surveys and preference forms often require multiple selections to ensure useful insights. See the example below.

What’s new – minimum selection requirement:

- Configure the minimum number of options a customer must select when a Checkboxes element is marked as required
- Default behavior remains unchanged: required Checkboxes still require at least one selection
- Enables more flexible and accurate form validation
Why it matters:
This new Minimum Checkbox Selection Requirement helps merchants enforce clearer requirements, collect higher-quality responses, and support more real-world use cases— without affecting existing forms.
