Simply Forms Adds Spam Protection with Cloudflare Turnstile

Simply Forms now includes built-in spam protection powered by Cloudflare Turnstile, helping protect Shopify forms from bots and automated spam submissions without requiring customers to solve traditional CAPTCHA puzzles.

Simply Forms enables spam protection by default on all plans.

What’s new

With this update, Simply Forms verifies storefront form submissions with Cloudflare Turnstile before accepting them.

The new spam protection provides:

• Built-in protection against automated form submissions
• Background verification with no interaction required for most customers
• Privacy-friendly verification without tracking cookies
• Spam protection enabled by default on all plans

You don’t need to configure a separate CAPTCHA service or complete any additional setup.

Invisible Verification

Simply Forms currently uses Cloudflare Turnstile in Invisible mode.

Turnstile verifies visitors in the background, so customers typically don’t see a verification challenge or need to take any additional action when submitting a form.

We plan to support additional verification modes in future releases:

• Invisible – No interaction for most customers
• Automatic – Shows a verification check when needed
• Interactive – Displays a challenge when additional verification is required

Simply Forms currently supports Invisible mode. We plan to add Automatic and Interactive modes in future releases.

Where Can Merchants Manage Spam Protection?

Spam protection is enabled by default. Merchants can turn it on or off from the Simply Forms app block settings in the Shopify Theme Editor.

In most cases, we recommend keeping spam protection enabled. However, you may need to disable it if visitors cannot access Cloudflare services because of regional or network restrictions, or if another app or custom storefront script conflicts with the verification process.

Existing merchants will receive a confirmation email about the update, while new installations have spam protection enabled automatically.
